Group Executive
Like all Scout Groups, Witchford is managed by its Group Scout Leader who in turn is supported by our Executive committee.
Every Scout Group has to elect an Executive Committee each year. The Exec consists of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, parents representatives of each Section and some leaders of the Scout Group. It may also include one or more individuals who have specific skills which are key to good management of the Group.
The Committee has the responsibility for day-to-day tasks such as account keeping, secretarial support as well as fundraising. They play an essential part in maintaining an effective and successful Scout Group and are required under Scouting and Charity Commission rules to be in place; otherwise, a Scout Group has to close.
Please consider helping us in this important part of the Scout Group. We need parents and carers from all walks of life to run the committee, and it doesn’t have to take much time. Any time you can spare is a big help. As mentioned above, we have to have an executive committee by law, and without it, we have to close
