Our adult volunteers ensure that the group runs week in, week out for the benefit of the 70+ local children that are members of Witchford Scout Group.
Although it may seem a daunting task, we as a team have as much fun as the children do….every single week!
Where else can you spend your evenings in a kayak, climbing rock-walls, exploring the local area and generally being a big kid again?
It’s certainly not all about being able to read a map and tie a knot these days! We always need volunteers to help us to provide this much fun.
Whether that’s as a section leader or helper at the weekly meetings or something more admin related behind the scenes, we’d love to hear from you.
Our current team comes from a wide variety of backgrounds including:
- Scientists
- Haulage operators
- Vets
- Software engineers
- Microchip designers
- Biologists
- DJs
- Tree surgeons
- Accountants
- IT specialists
- Caterers
And that’s to name just a few!
Whether you can donate a couple of hours a week or just an hour a month, all help is more than appreciated. You don’t need any experience of Scouting as full training is provided, and it really isn’t as scary as you might think.
