‘Scouting has given me a fantastic opportunity to do lots of activities and things that people who are not in Scouts don’t get to do. It’s about having fun with good friends. I’ve just been selected to go the World Scout Jamboree in Sweden and that’s going to be awesome.’

Our Scout Troop is for young people, aged between 10½ and 14½ years. A young person can come into the Troop at 10 and may stay until they are 14½ years old. The Scout Troop is the third and final Section in our Scout Group. However, Scouts can then join any one of the local Explorer groups

Scouts meet every Monday evening during Rackham term times between 7pm and 8:30pm.

What we do

Our programme is designed to cover a wide range of areas and activities, so there is something for everyone. It also gives the opportunity for Scouts to learn and have fun at the same time.

The majority of the activities we do are based on teamwork, so that Scouts can develop this and other essential skill that they will need for later in life.

We also feel that being outdoors is important, and therefore half the programme is given over to taking part in both the traditional Scouting skills, such as camping, survival and cooking as well a wide range of adventurous activities.
